Paper Covers Rock Society presents Reading Retreats: a weekend read-aloud party. Twelve of us take a break from our normal lives and read one novel out loud, start to finish, together. There’s no assigned homework beforehand, and zero pressure to perform. You can read aloud if you feel like it, or just sit back and listen. By Saturday night, we’ll have finished it as a group. For our first edition we are reading Patrick deWitt’s brand-new novel, Dodge City — two weeks before its official release date! Sept 18 & 19, 3–6 PM both days $75 includes your own copy of the book (yours to keep), both afternoon sessions, cider & snacks from Salt Spring Wild, a private tour of the gallery’s current show “Piecemeal,” and a bit of surprise swag.
