
Artcraft Showcase Exhibition ― Groove Noir: Moments
Groove Noir is a photography exhibition exploring live music on Salt Spring Island in 2025 and 2026. Set in small, intimate venues, the work captures the close relationship between performer and audience, where subtle gestures, expressions, and moments of reflection can be seen and felt. Inspired by the atmosphere of Film Noir, the exhibition uses shadow and limited light as part of the composition. Musicians emerge from darkness, briefly suspended in moments of concentration, quiet satisfaction, and presence. Rather than documenting the full room, Groove Noir focuses on what often remains after a performance: a look, a hand on an instrument, a feeling shared between artist and audience.
