Artist Talk with Jeannette Sirois
Join Salt Spring Arts Council for an artist talk with visual artist Jeannette Sirois on Sunday, July 5, from 2–3 PM at Mahon Hall Stage. The talk is presented in conjunction with her Artcraft Showcase exhibition, At the Table: The Architecture of Control. This is an opportunity to hear directly from the artist and learn more about the ideas, materials, and process behind the exhibition. Jeannette Sirois is a Salt Spring Island artist working in large-scale portrait drawing and research-creation. At the Table brings together monumental coloured-pencil portraits, personal testimony, and installation elements to examine the legal, medical, bureaucratic, and religious systems through which queer and trans lives have been administered, classified, and governed.
